A career restaurateur who consistently
embodied the spirit of giving.
For those of us who were fortunate enough to know George, we can tell you that he was one of the most selfless people on the planet. If you never had the opportunity to meet him, this story about George will show you exactly what kind of guy he was…
Although George knew he had potentially serious health issues, he kept that information to himself because he didn’t want to burden his family. You see, George’s son, Bill, was planning to marry a woman he absolutely adored, Neha, in April of 2013, and George didn’t want Bill and Neha to change their wedding plans because of his poor health.
So, George sacrificed every ounce of fighting energy he had left to make the journey to their destination wedding in Anguilla. Unfortunately, he died abruptly of congestive heart failure just a few hours before their scheduled wedding ceremony.
That sums up George—he was a very giving person who always made sacrifices for the wellbeing of others. He is deeply missed and we are forever grateful for his example.
The Stavros family launched this 501(c)(3) organization so we could continue George’s generous legacy while making people’s days a little brighter.
