With profound sadness and grateful hearts, we announce the passing of Sachin Patel, 56, whose generous spirit touched countless lives before his departure on February 4th in his home in Wayne, NJ. His remarkable journey, which began in India, and flourished across the United States and beyond, embodied the harmony of his Catholic faith and cherished Hindu heritage – a testament to his inclusive spirit and deep respect for both traditions that shaped his life's path.

Sachin's early years in Borsad, India, with his parents (Pinakinbhai and Niranjanaben) and grandparents (Manibhai and Kamlaben) profoundly shaped the man he would become. He often spoke of his grandfather, whom he deeply admired, and whose work helping farmers recover lost land without compensation instilled in Sachin a lifelong commitment to serving others. This formative experience laid the foundation for his unwavering belief in helping those in need. From Borsad to his collegiate years at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he forged lifelong bonds with his fraternity brothers, Sachin built a life defined by meaningful connections and unwavering service to others.

It was at VCU that he met Dania, who would become a cherished part of his life.  The friendships forged at VCU, and especially his relationship with Dania, became a cornerstone of his life, shaping the journey that lay ahead. Together with his father Pinakinbhai, he transformed Innovative Resin Systems into a global enterprise, creating not just a successful business but a community where employees could build meaningful, lasting careers. Throughout his journey, he nurtured deep relationships across his extended family network stretching from Richmond and Greenville to DC, NJ, and Connecticut, and as far as the Netherlands and China.

His entrepreneurial vision was as strong as his boundless compassion – whether cheering for his beloved New York Yankees/Knicks and the Dallas Cowboys, or extending a helping hand to anyone in need, Sachin's heart was always the biggest in the crowd. He readily put the needs of others before his own, a testament to his selfless nature. His dedication to continuing his family's legacy while building a better future for others was evident in everything he did, from his tireless work in co-founding the Jammy Jam Foundation, and supporting Shriners, the Wayne Food Pantry, St. Jude's, and countless other organizations, to his special joy in bringing smiles to children's faces, especially his beloved nieces and nephews. He also cherished the companionship of his beloved dogs, Dixie and Katy, whom he affectionately called "Peace" and "Joy," reflecting the qualities he sought to embody in his own life.  

Sachin leaves behind an extraordinary circle of love: his sister Neha and brother-in-law Bill Stavros (who was more than a brother-in-law – he was a true brother), his beloved dog Mila (who brought him endless joy and carries the spirit of his father), his Theta Chi Fraternity brothers, and a vast extended family of friends from India to America and beyond who considered him a brother, father figure, and trusted confidant.  While preceded in death by his loving parents, Sachin's spirit lives on through the countless lives he enriched with his overwhelming generosity and unflagging commitment to helping others. His legacy endures not just through the business he built, but through every person whose life was brightened by his selfless kindness, every smile he brought to a child's face, and every helping hand he extended to those in need. His presence was a gift; his warmth radiated through his eyes, his smile was always genuine, his ability to capture people’s hearts, and his quiet confidence brought comfort to those around him. People trusted him implicitly, knowing that he was intelligent, compassionate, and always had their best interests at heart.  As we celebrate a life lived with purpose and compassion – a life that truly left this world better than he found it – we say goodbye to a beloved son of India and America, a brother to all, a bridge between cultures, and a man whose heart knew no bounds.
